I was going to write about something today, but I decided to bring it all back home and just show you pictures of how beautiful wood can be. This week I was looking in the scrap bin and this piece of scrap caught my eye.
The staining of the wood as it grew was very unusual, then I turned it over and saw this. It was the perfect message for me at that time and I’m really grateful for the beauty that was shared with me.
How different and inspiring it was, so this week, it’s nothing but surfboards. In 2015 there was a showing of select boards at Turtle Bay on the North Shore, here’s a look at what was displayed.
This was the other side of the room. It was magic to stand next to the twenty-foot-long Olo.
During that trip, I was traveling with Bill Hamilton, and in a surf shop we found one of Billy’s boards, a true prized possession.
The next three boards were photographed by David Reese, a true artist.
The final piece of art was shaped by George Downing and it is a work of a true master craftsman. Whether you are a surfer or not, it’s hard not to stand in awe when you are in front of something as breathtaking as this.
The next time you stand in front of a tree, try to image what is contained inside. If you’d like to help support Wood Water Soul please check out our shop.
I want to thank you all for reading Wood Water Soul. Please share this Blog with a fellow surfer or with a friend who needs some Joy in their lives. I invite you to watch, Addicted to Joy for free, Aloha.
A much needed moment of calm in the day. Thank you!
